Auckland City Hospital
DCCM ICU Beds 23 - 26

Client: Health NZ | Te Toka Tumai Auckland

Location: Auckland City Hospital

Description:

We had the privilege of working with the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Auckland City Hospital to provide four new ICU beds. In three months, we transformed an existing storeroom into four new ICU bed spaces and upgraded the medical gas and electrical infrastructure to enable further future development. In cooperation with the department, we navigated the complexities of building adjacent to a live clinical area and managed the critical systems shutdown necessary for integrating the new infrastructure.

Auckland City Hospital
Airborne Infection Isolation Rooms Project

Client: Health NZ | Te Toka Tumai Auckland

Location: Auckland City Hospital

Description:

Series of new negative pressure isolation rooms for treating patients with airborne infections (i.e. COVID-19).

Working across multiple departments within the main hospital building, we delivered four new Isolation ICU rooms, four Resus Isolation Rooms, and two Cardiac Care Isolation rooms, each complete with ante rooms and HEPA-filtered negative pressure systems. By reviewing the design and construction methodology, we identified all design and access issues before any clinical spaces were displaced. This allowed us to complete projects ahead of schedule with no surprises during construction, minimizing the time healthcare spaces were unavailable.
